Dr Angamuthu Rajoo graduated from University Malaya in 1979. Obtained FRCS Edinburgh in general surgery in 1984 and FRACS in Plastic and Reconstructive surgery in Australia in 1988. In 1988, he established the Plastic Surgical Unit in Hospital Sultanah Aminah (HSA) and in 1990 started his private practice in Johor Bahru. Even though he did not have any formal training in AVF surgery, in 1988, at the request of the nephrologist in HSA, he taught himself AVF surgery based on his training in microsurgery. Over the years, he also learned to manage surgically all peripheral complications and has done more than 25,000 AVFs and related procedures.

Anga AVF Centre has presented papers on various aspects of AVFs at several conferences. So far, a total of 15 poster presentations on various topics of AVF and its complications and an oral presentation on a prospective study of AVF at snuff box were conducted. He has spoken on various AVF, Plastic and Cosmetic surgery topics at local and international conferences. His ambulatory AVF Centre is one of the outsourced centres by Ministry of Health for AVF referred cases. He was a Past President of Malaysia Association of Plastic & Aesthetic & Craniomaxillofacial Surgeons and is involved in several charitable organisations.
