Associate Prof. Dr Ruslinda Mustafar is a distinguished figure in the field of nephrology, recognized for her contributions in research, clinical expertise, and leadership roles within the Faculty of Medicine at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and the Malaysian Society of Nephrology (MSN). Her academic journey began with an early medical degree, followed by a Master’s degree in Internal Medicine from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia paving the way for her to further specialized in nephrology, completing her fellowship in 2015. Since then, she has earned a reputation as an expert in kidney diseases. Over the years, as a lecturer, she dedicating her career in teaching and learning to the undergraduate and postgraduate medical students especially to the advancement of kidney health and patient care. Her research interests include the acute kidney injury and critical care nephrology, chronic kidney disease as well dialysis outcomes. Dr. Ruslinda has contributed to the body of knowledge in nephrology, with publications in medical journals and presentations at national and international conferences. As an active member of MSN, Dr. Ruslinda has influenced nephrology education, research, and clinical practice within Malaysia. Her leadership and efforts in organizing seminars and conferences have facilitated the exchange of knowledge and enhanced collaborations among many healthcare providers. Her leadership, expertise, and dedication to nephrology have earned her respect among her colleagues, making her an asset to the Faculty of Medicine, UKM as well as the Malaysian nephrology community.
