Prior to joining IJN College in November 2023, Dr Hariyati served as an academician for 25 years at IIUM, holding various academic administrative posts. She obtained her PhD in Psychology and Masters in Applied Psychology from the University of Surrey, UK (2000 and 1996, respectively) and her BSc in Psychology from University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA in 1992. Dr Hariyati is currently a Board of Studies member for the Master’s in Clinical Psychology program at UiTM, Masters in Disaster Risk Management at UTM and is the External Industrial Advisor for the Psychology program at UCMI. She is a member of American Psychological Association, Persatuan Psikologi Malaysia, Malaysian Diabetes Education Society and Hospice Negeri Sembilan. She is a HRDC certified trainer, a freelance consultant health psychologist, training healthcare providers on motivational interviewing for behavioral change, stress management, therapeutic communication, and psychological first aid.
