Dr Rafidah Abdullah, received early educations from Sekolah Sri Petaling, Petaling Jaya, Newton Farm School (London), Bukit Bintang School, Kuala Lumpur and Tunku Kurshiah College, Seremban. She received PETRONAS scholarship to pursue Medicine and graduated from University of Edinburgh in 1996. She obtained MRCP in 2001 and completed Nephrology sub-speciality training in 2005 and was trained in Nephrology in Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Hospital Selayang and Richard Bright Renal Unit, Southmead Hospital, Bristol, United Kingdom. She has Masters in Palliative Care (with distinction) from King’s College London, UK and currently in Year 2 part-time PhD with Lancaster University, UK. She is currently leading several national committees including Renal Palliative Care, Clinical Practice Guidelines Comprehensive Care for Advanced CKD, Pre-Dialysis Education Programme implementation and National Action Plan for Healthy Kidneys (ACTKID) 2026-2030. She has been elected to Malaysian Medical Council, tenure starting January 2024 for 3 years. She has published in peer-reviewed journals, invited speaker, and presented in many local and international conferences. She is a key opinion leader in social media, enjoys running marathons and hiking.
